Eric A. Sauser of Omaha Nebraska passed at age 43 from leukemia on February 26, 2021, but his widow Crystal Sauser, 39 brought joy and laughter to friends, family, and internet strangers with her humorous Ozzy Osbourne related last request for him.
The father-of-three leaves behind his wife of 13 years who was tasked with not only planning his funeral but also writing his obituary.
Crystal requested that mourners “jam out to some Ozzy Osbourne and raise a cold one” after the funeral service.
Eric’s loving wife paid homage to him with her funny obituary, calling out his love of his ‘brilliant kids’ and ‘any old Chevy he saw on the road’. She added the cause of death ‘was either leukemia or more likely being “dead sexy”‘. Also describing his funeral as a ‘once in a lifetime show for the greatest man on earth’.
The 39-year-old told CNN she had no idea how to write an obituary and decided instead to have some fun paying tribute to her husband, aka the “greatest man on earth”.
“We think the cause of death was either leukaemia or more likely being ‘dead sexy’. Eric, we’ve always loved you and miss you already,” – Mrs Sauser
Referring to herself as his “smoking hot wife”, Mrs Sauser wrote that Mr Sauser was “preceded in death by billions, including his dog Harvey who most of us loved to hate.
“We are confident they are joyfully reconnecting right now.”
Describing Mr Sauser as “Super Dad, aka Easy, just a rockin’ dude”, Mrs Sauser wrote that his death was “just in time for him to make his spiritual appearance at every Red Sox spring game”.

The diagnosis didn’t stop the sexiness
Eric was first diagnosed with cancer in 2018. The diagnosis, Sauser said, came as a shock.
“He would carry (our daughter) up to our room and one night he just said, ‘I’m so out of breath. I’m so tired.’ And that was really all it took,” she said.
Two years of treatment, recovery and recurrence ensued.
Sauser said she wanted to make sure Eric knew she loved him, despite the physical changes he was undergoing.
“I would say, ‘You’re so sexy,'” Sauser said, remembering a time when she pushed her husband in a wheelchair through the airport. “He would always be like, ‘That is so annoying.'”
When Eric died, Sauser said, the hospice nurses, whom they had built a relationship with over previous months, came to pronounce his death.
Sauser jokingly told them to write down “dead sexy” as the cause.
“At the end of the day, my commitment was that I would never stop loving him,” she said. “He needed to know it wasn’t materialistic — that I thought he was dead sexy for him, for who he was.”
Let us also note that Eric was survived by his ‘smoking hot wife’ Crystal and his ‘brilliant’ children Amelia, Violet and Benjamin, as well as his parents, his sister and ‘aunt extraordinaire’ to his children, and his freinds.
