The Iconic Red KK Downing Gibson Flying V Guitar has Sold at a London Auction for $189,000
The Former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing auctioned several guitars in the memorabilia lot, including his famed Gibson Flying V Medallion.
International Auction House Bonhams – London noted the 1971 Gibson V was one of eleven of his guitars sold.

Bidders also battled it out to claim the guitar that was used on a number of classic Judas Priest albums.
Those albums included Sad Wings of Destiny and Point of Entry, the 1967 KK Downing Gibson Flying V Guitar sold for a staggering 189K!
Also sold at auction were Marshall amp heads, guitar FX and a pair of leather jackets from the Turbo and Screaming For Vengeance tours.
KK Downing’s autobiography, Heavy Duty: Days and Nights in Judas Priest reflected on the good and the bad during his time with Judas Priest.
Downing quit the band in 2011, saying “Aspiring to be successful is a lot of fun.”
Earlier this year, KK sold his share of royalty rights to 136 Priest tracks, including classic songs.
The deal was made following the collapse of his luxury golf course venture.
