One of the greatest Heavy Metal Moments is when Rob Halford was surprised by Lemmy Kilmister during an interview.
Lets flashback to 2011 when two great friends with major respect for each other provided us with one of the classiest…Heavy Metal Moments!
Judas Priest fans weren’t “Living After Midnight” that weekend because they had been anticipating watching A&E’s music series “Private Sessions”.
But the episode was scheduled to air on a Monday at 8 a.m :::YAWN:::
Rob Halford chatted with host Lynn Hoffman about his life on the road, metal therapy and, at the time, the new, 30thanniversary editions of British Steel. The also featured Priest performing – “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’,” “Breaking the Law,” “Living After Midnight” and “Freewheel Burning.”
Rumor had it that Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister would guest star on the episode as well. He sure did, in typical Lemmy fashion…
Check out the videos below, including some behind the scenes footage from the taping of the episode and relive one the the Best Heavy Metal Moments!
Lemmy of Motörhead had sent in a video asking Rob about the methods he takes in caring for his voice. When Lemmy showed up on the screen, a huge smile comes across Halford’s face, and even though he’s wearing “the glasses” you can still tell his eyes lit up!
What made this video so priceless, in our eyes, was that the interviewer introduced Lemmy as not just a friend, but also a fan, which spoke volumes.
“When I was in the presence of Lord Lemmy, I was a bit overwhelmed… Here was a man who lived life on his own terms, a rock and roll maverick”. -- Rob Halford
